Nintendo Wii Previews - Everything You Need to Know

The Advantages:

Design Features: Nintendo Wii previews reveal how truly innovative the controller design system is. With its motion sensitive and detection options, it brings a new level and experience to playing video games. Nintendo GameCube games are also compatible with the new system. Another handy feature of the system is the built in SD card reader. This allows you to store and view photos that you can view on your television. The price is also very competitive especially when you compare it to other systems available.

The Gaming Experience: The gaming experience is truly awesome. Instead of holding a controller like a traditional video game, you actually get to play out the interactions as if you were in the video game itself. For instance, if you are playing a sports game, you get to make the movements like you were playing the sport itself. This allows you to actually get a good workout and have fun at the same time. This is all made possible with the Wiimote. How would you like to swing a light saber like a Jedi when playing Star Wars? How would you like to play a guitar? It even allows you to connect the portable Nintendo DS system and play games like Pokemon Battle Revolution.

The Disadvantages:

Battery Life - This is something you don't hear about in Nintendo Wii previews. Before the introduction of the Nintendo Wii system, gamers never had to worry about battery life. With the Wiimote, this is now something that has to be managed. The main system only comes with one Wiimote so if you want to play games with friends, you will need to buy another rone

Graphics, Sounds Media - This is where the competition destroys Nintendo. The Nintendo Wii simply cannot compete with the Microsoft Xbox 360 or the Sony Playstation 3 when it comes down to graphics in the gaming world. You also cannot play any CDs or any DVDs on the system as well unlike the competition.

So now that you know the advantages and disadvantages when it comes to looking at Nintendo wii previews, you can make a decision for yourself as to whether this is a gaming system you would like to own.

The Most Addicting Games on the Planet

If you're an avid gamer, you' probably enjoy most genres of games and puzzles. Someone asks if you'd like to play, and you immediately say, "I'm in!" In an admittedly informal survey of avid gamers (and after some very heated discussions), here are the games that they claimed were among the most addicting games on the planet.

Video Games

When it came to addicting video games, many of my gamer friends voted for the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (for the GameCube) and WarioWare: Smooth Moves (for the Wii). The guys in the crowd were partial to the Burnout Series and the Gran Turismo series (for the Playstation). And those who were into role-playing games were vocal in their support of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (on the Xbox 360).

Board Games

All of my gamer friends love to play board games, and most named Monopoly as one of the most addicting games on the planet. Other traditional board games that ranked high included Scrabble and Risk. Some mentioned unique board games, such as Axis & Allies and Starfarers of Catan, while others stuck with Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit.

Card Games

When it came to card games, more than a few of my gamer friends admitted to having stayed up all night playing poker. Several owned high-end poker chip sets and planned their activities around their monthly poker games. There weren't any bridge players in the group, but several mentioned learning old-time card games from their parents and grandparents. The fondly reminisced about playing card games of canasta, rummy, hearts, and spades as they were growing up.

Kid's Games

All of my gamer friends said that they came from game-playing families, and that they started playing games when they were very young. Aside from card games like Old Maid and Crazy Eights, most ranked Chutes and Ladders, Sorry!, and checkers as all-time favorites. Those with kids said that some of the newer games for kids, like Cranium Cadoo and Pictionary Junior, were big hits at home, although one said that her daughter loved jigsaw puzzles more than any particular game - and had over 50 in her collection!

Strategy Games

When the subject of strategy games came up, there was an intense discussion of the merits of checkers, chess, and backgammon. The chess players in the group dismissed checkers as too simple, while the checkers players argued that the chess players were just brainiacs. Everyone did agree, though, that backgammon was one of the most addicting games on the planet.

Party Games

Naturally, all of my gamer friends often attended "game night" parties, and all agreed that 25 Words or Less and Taboo were two of the most addicting games on the planet. For more organized fun, many voted for Bunco, a mindless dice game played by 12 or more players. Everyone vouched for the fact that Bunco allows you to visit with friends while rolling the dice, accumulating points, and periodically screaming "Bunco!"

Obviously, every gamer is unique and has his or her own personal list of the most addicting games on the planet. But if you haven't dabble in those that my gamer friends recommend, give them a try - you might find them addicting as well!

Mahjong Fun

Mahjong is a traditional Chinese game that involves skill, intelligence, and a little bit of luck. Mahjong means the game of a hundred intelligences in Chinese and it lives up to that meaning. Its traditionally a gambling game and it has gone by many different names in the past. Ma Chiao, Mo Tsiah, Ma Cheuk, Ma Jong, Ma Chiang, Ma Chong, Man Chu, Mah Diao, Pung Chow, Mah Chong, Ching Chong, Mah Cheuk, Ma Chiang, Kong Chow, Mah Deuck, Lung Chan, Mah Lowe, Pe Ling, Baak Ling.

There are many different versions of the game, but it is generally played by Chinese, Japanese, and American styles. There are tournaments held all over the world. There is even a World Championship for the game.

Mahjong normally is played by 4 players, but you can play with 2-5 players. You can choose to play with mahjong cards or tiles, but tiles are commonly used. There are 136-152 tiles that are used when playing.

The point of the game is to make a set of four defined groups of tiles. The first player to complete the sets is the winner. All tiles have a value on them and that is how scoring is based. Many people enjoy the game of mahjong. You can also play it on your computer at home.

Which Online Guitar Lessons Are Right For You?

If you play the guitar or would like to and have spent any time looking on the Internet for online courses and lessons, you may well have found it a pretty depressing experience. There's no shortage of lessons and courses out there, it's just that sorting the good ones from the dross seems almost impossible.

Visit the websites of these courses and you'll find paragraph after paragraph of hype, promising you the earth, telling you that if only you buy this course or sign-up for this site, you'll be transformed from guitar zero to guitar hero in a matter of weeks. Worse still, if you try and find honest, hype-free reviews of these products you'll find that most of the sites that turn up in the first few pages of Google's search results for the product name followed by 'review' offer little more than a rehashing of the original sites. Many of these so-called reviewers haven't even tried out the product they claim to review, let alone written a careful and honest appraisal.

The one piece of good news is that nearly all these courses, including the likes of Jamorama, Guitar Scale Mastery, and Riff Master Pro Slow Down, offer a money-back guarantee if you don't like what you get when you buy. But that still leaves you with the task of laboriously buying and downloading one after the other in order to find which one's right for you.

So, what should you do? The first thing is to be honest about your own skill level. There's no point buying a course for advanced players if you're a complete beginner, and vice versa. Next, decide whether you work better from reading something that's written down, or watching a lesson on video. Thirdly, prepare to practice. No matter what they promise, none of these programs will make yo a better guitar player without hours and hours of effort on your part.

To find out which lessons are right for you, forget about searching Google for reviews. Head off to your favourite guitar forums and ask there if anyone has any experience for the courses you're interested in. Go to Yahoo Answers or AllExperts.com and post a question. And head to Technorati and find some blogs written by guitar players, or better still, teachers, and ask their opinion.

Like improving your playing, these research techniques take time and effort, but the reward is that you won't spend hours downloading courses which don't deliver what they promised and then claiming a refund. It'll be well-worth it in the long run.
